Deflected Flame Spray Extension

Extension-Wide

Introducing the deflected flame spray extension

The Metallisation deflected flame spray extension has been developed as a direct result of customers requirements to apply a quality coating in difficult access areas. The initial requirement was for spraying onto pipe runs in the petro-chemical industry where the access between pipes and near pipe supports or other structures was limited. The extension unit fits directly onto the Metallisation flame spray pistols.

MK61-FS Wire Flame

Introducing the MK61-FS

The Metallisation MK61-FS is an oxygen-acetylene fuelled flamespray system, primarily for spraying engineering coatings of steels, bronzes, copper and importantly, molybdenum. The lightweight, robust pistol offers the possibility to reclaim damaged parts for small to medium sized applications. Molybdenum can also be sprayed with the MK61-FS as a soft bond coat through to a very hard, wear resistant coating. The MK61-FS system can be used for anti-corrosion coatings where propane is not readily available. The ‘FS’ stands for Free-Standing as the new control board can be free standing or wall mounted to suit all site or in-house applications.

Extended supplies package options are being increasingly used to maximise efficiency when working on large job sites such as refineries, petro-chemical sites and offshore structures. The extended supplies packages, up to 50m from cylinders to pistol, allows the cylinders to be remotely located whilst the operator moves around the job with just the pistol and occasionally moving the control panel. The length of supplies is limited by the pressure of the acetylene. Longer supplies are possible with the propane fuelled MK73-FS as well as faster spray rates for corrosion coatings.

New in 2014 is a more ‘site friendly’ control panel. It is more robust and offers further protection to the flowmeter and ARF unit. It can be wall mounted or will free-stand on the floor. The flow of hoses is neater than the previous unit.

MK73-FS Wire Flame

Introducing the MK73-FS

The Metallisation MK73-FS is an oxygen-propane fuelled flamespray system giving un-rivalled anti-corrosion coatings. The ‘FS’ stands for Free-Standing as the new control board can be free standing or wall mounted.

The lightweight, well-balanced, robust pistol offers the quickest spray rates on the market, saving you both time and money. Systems can be supplied as continuous spray or, more commonly, with a unique stop/start function that allows the operator to stop spraying but keep the flame lit without damage to the pistol.

New in 2014 is a more ‘site friendly’ control panel. It is more robust and offers further protection to the flowmeter and ARF unit. It can be wall mounted or will free-stand on the floor. The flow of hoses is neater than the previous unit.

The new control panel is also better suited to using in long supplies format, which is becoming an increasing requirement for site installations. See ‘Supplies Packs and ‘Control Board’ section for more details.

The pistol can be further enhanced by fitting a deflected spray extension. This unit allows the operator to spray at right angles and get into difficult to access spray areas, such as between pipes or close to brackets. This enables more areas to be sprayed and with a better quality coating than may have previously been possible. The extension uses the same consumable parts as a standard pistol.

Arcspray 701(16)-CL

Introducing the Arc701/S700(16)

The Metallisation Arc701/S700(16) twin wire arc spray system is a unique blend of ability and innovation. It brings together the proven performance of our Arc700 pistol plus the very latest technological advances. For instance, the new S700(16) energiser still offers high spray rates for reduced spraying times over large areas but is now combined with closed loop current control. This enables the operator to set the spray current independent of wire type before starting the job, enabling easier setup and protection of the system from over-current.

The control function is now controlled by a simple PLC which ensures improved reliability as less component parts are required. It also makes fault finding simple using a standard multimeter with the I/O for the PLC. The S700(16) energizer features sealed electronics for excellent reliability in the harshest of spray environments.

The design also allows for multiple customer-specific packaging options for the wire drive and dispense. In one option, for example, the unit is neatly mounted on the energiser, leaving it free to swivel and follow the operator when spraying. Other options include floor or trolley mounting of the wire drive unit.

The drive unit is very robust, ensuring supreme reliability in the most arduous of site conditions. The lightweight, hand-held pistol incorporates proven Metallisation technology, including a unique, constant geometry (CG) head. This ensures smooth and consistent spray quality and minimal downtime when changing consumable spares. Various packaging options, including an extended site trolley, allow the energiser to be sited up to 25m from the pistol spraying area. Alternatively, the drive unit can be mounted neatly on the energiser, leaving it free to swivel and follow the operator when spraying.

Arcspray 340(16)-PLC

Introducing the ARC340(16)-PLC

The Metallisation ARC340(16)-PLC twin wire arc spray system is the preferred choice for general engineering applications. It is ideally suited to tool post and automation mounted applications with occasional requirements for hand spraying. The proven ARC340 pistol is now combined with a new range of (16) version, 250A and 350A switched voltage energisers.

The ARC340(16)-PLC system with a S250, 250A energiser is ideally suited to many engineering applications. However, for some larger scale applications where a higher throughput is required, the S350, 350A energiser will enable higher spray rates and increased productivity. The ARC340 is capable to spray anti-corrosion coatings also but may not be the most suitable solution for these applications. Alternative, more suitable systems could be the ARC140, ARC701 or ARC170 systems.

The PLC controller within the sealed electronics area of the energiser enables easy fault finding and offer over-current protection for the system. This means that the system will protect itself in the event of operator error when setting up spray parameters. The ARC340 pistol on its own supersedes and can be fitted as a direct replacement to the ARC234, ARC240 and ARC375 pistols. With fairly minimal modifications, it can also be fitted to some competitor pull systems.
