Metallisation Flame Spray process

This video gives an introduction to the flame spray process, illustrating a host of diverse uses for our range of flame sprays.

Coatings of zinc, aluminium, steels, copper, bronze, molybdenum and other materials can be sprayed for corrosion protection, engineering reclamation, surface modification and decoration.

Our Flame Spray benefits

Our flame sprays allow you to minimise wastage using the effective start/stop control, as well as our adjustable spread spray stream which reduces overspray – allowing the coating of larger areas accurately.

All of our flame sprays are lightweight, agile and can be used on anything from small fabrications, fences or railings, to bridges and large steel structures.

Deflected flame extension – RNLI L&RS Chassis

Perryfields Ltd have used a Metallisation deflected flame spray extension on their MK73 flame spray pistol to spray hard to access areas with zinc. The areas include the chassis legs and engine mounts for a new RNLI Launch and Recovery System, manufactured by Supacat Ltd.

Deflected arcspray extension

Video shows the ARC140 deflected extension in use to spray internal bores with a deflection angle up to 78 degrees. The same extension is also used for hand spraying in difficult to access areas. Similar extensions are also available for ARC340 and ARC528 systems. Available extension lengths are 150mm, 500mm, 1m and 1.5m.

Cored wire spraying over 20m

This simple video shows the ARC140 twin wire push/pull arcspray system spraying cored wire through a 20m supplies pack. The distance from the wire feed unit to the pistol is 20m. Cored wire is notoriously difficult to spray due to it’s low column strength. The Metallisation ARC140 system is seen to spray very successfully, even when feeding the wire over this length with knots tied in the conduits. The system is equally capable when spraying solid wires including zinc, aluminium and steels.

Note: tying tight knots in the conduits is for display purposes only and should not be done in general use as it will cause excessive wear in the conduits.

Typical applications of Metallisation Arcspray systems

Metallisation arcspray’s can be used on gates, fences, railings and playgrounds, either painted or powder coated after metal spraying.

Our arcspray has been used on large steel applications like the Burj Al Arab hotel, as well as wind turbine towers and frameworks. Arcspay can be used for engineering coatings of steel and other hard materials for shaft repair/resurfacing.

The ARC1020 Pistol

Detailing pistol features and benefits. A heavy-duty unit with a robust construction, proven reliability and diagnostics. The drive box is factory lubricated and has hardened gears for longer life with 4 rollers per side and U-groove rollers for optimum wire contact and reliable drive. The new spray head has been designed to use lower air pressures with increased air flow. Included is an integrated spray stream spreader with independent control of rate of spread.

The '17' Series Energiser

Energiser features and benefits for the 1000(17) and 1500(17) Amp models. Including push buttons with improved dust ingress protection, high throughput air connections, a new high contrast digital display and rugged harting connectors and claw sitting air input. The rectifiers are rated for high performance, duty cycle and long life.
