Course Description:
An online course consisting of a range of presentations, videos, quizzes and useful links, designed to introduce an operator with no experience of thermal spraying to their new equipment in order so that they can operate the equipment safely and to learn the basics of the process.

A course designed to get someone with no experience with thermal spraying off to a running start so that they can operate and maintain the equipment safely, competently and be able to apply coatings efficiently and effectively.

Course Description:
A good number of users of thermal spray coatings (oil and gas companies, road and rail infrastructure etc.) are now insisting that operators doing the spraying must be certified according to the EN ISO 14918 standard. This operator preparation training is the
instruction before the assessment.
Equipment covered:
Flamespray, Arcspray, Plasma and HVOF*
Prior Recommended experience:
Ideally minimum 3 months and/or Introduction or Intermediate course
Course duration:
Approx. 7 hours*
*HVOF and Plasma plus automated equipment training courses spend less time focusing on the setup of the system and more time on the basic operation and maintenance of the equipment. Complex coating application training can be given in an extended, bespoke training course.

EN ISO 14918:2018 Operator Assessment
Course Description:
In collaboration with the Thermal Spray and Surface Engineering Association (TSSEA), Metallisation can offer certification of operators in accordance with the EN ISO 14918 standard. This can be booked directly with Metallisation Ltd or by clicking here. The certificate will be issued by the TSSEA. In simple terms, this is like a driving test for operators showing competancy and skill.

Flamespray, Arcspray, Plasma and HVOF*
Prior Recommended experience:
Ideally minimum 3 months and/or 14918 training course
Course duration:
2 to 4 operators per day*
