In the METALLISATION
FLAMESPRAY process, the raw material in the form of a single
wire, cord or powder, is melted in an oxygen-fuel gas flame. This molten
material is atomised by a cone of compressed air and propelled towards
the workpiece.
The molten
spray solidifies on the component surface to form a dense, strongly adherent
coating suitable for Corrosion Protection or component Reclamation. Sprayed
coatings may also be used to provide Wear Resistance, Electrical &
Thermal Conductivity or Insulation or Free Standing Shapes.
|
|
| |
| Major
advantages of the Flamespray process are that the coatings are available
for almost instant use with no drying or curing times and there is
no risk of damaging the component. |

| MARK
73 |
|
| |
|
|
The
METALLISATION MARK 73 represents
a breakthrough in anti-corrosion spraying. With a new choice of continuous
or stop/start nozzles, throughputs have been raised by an amazing 33%!
With its predecessor already one of the fastest guns around, this new
development puts the Mark 73
way ahead of the field. The combination of the new head with an improved
valve and pilot assembly and a high power air motor drive must make this
the fastest and most reliable system in existence.
|
 |
| |
|
| Where
pure speed is not the sole criterion the Mark
73, with the new series nozzle systems, gives reliable stop/start
application where finer work is sprayed with smaller wires. Wire need never
again be wasted by continuous spraying off the job. |

Primarily
intended in the application of Engineering coatings, the Acetylene
fuelled METALLISATION MARK 61
is capable of spraying all materials available in the form of wire. The
MARK 61 is also suitable for
use in anti-corrosion applications where Propane is difficult to obtain.
The nozzle system of the MARK 61
offers the unique ability to deposit Molybdenum in a range of hardnesses
from soft for bond coats to very hard for wear
resistance.
|
 |
| |
|
| The
MARK 61 is supplied with an optional toolpost holder to permit machine mounted
operations. |

The system
provides fully programmed ignition and spray initiation; and an intermediate
system of stationary wire and reduced pilot flame. This special design
ensures that the wire does not stick in the nozzle bore even when left
for long periods. Fault sensors check for loss of flame, wire stoppages
or run out. These features ensure continued operation, improved coating
quality and minimised downtime.
|
 |
| |
|
| This
unit contains all the electronic and gas controls necessary for automatic
operation. The system includes a mass flowmeter control, for coating
quality and repeatability and PLC for ease of interface with other
systems. Operation of the unit is simple, with full display and diagnostic
information provided. |

Weighing
only 1.85kg (4lb), the new Mark 74
powder spray pistol can be hand held or machine-mounted to apply
coatings with a wide range of powders. Its robust construction will ensure
long periods of trouble-free operation, with fingertip operation of the
trigger valve below the canister ensuring full control of the powder feed.
|
 |
| |
|
| The
Mark 74 is recommended
for numerous coating applications. It has excellent flame stability, thanks
to its nozzle system. Using a mixture of oxygen and acetylene fuelled gas
to give a capability for spraying ceramic coatings as well as self-fluxing
alloys and all other metallic powders. A remote powder feeder is available
as an option for long spray time or production usage. |
